STUDI AWAL PENGUASAAN KONSEP MAHASISWA CALON GURU BIOLOGI DALAM PERKULIAHAN FISIOLOGI HEWAN

ABSTRAK: Studi awal mengenai  penguasaan konsep mahasiswa calon guru biologi dalam perkuliahan fisiologi hewan telah dilakukan di Prodi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya. Untuk menjaring data penguasaan konsep dilakukan melalui tes respon terbatas bentuk pilihan ganda, diolah dengan statistik  deskripif. Hasil studi menunjukkan penguasaan mahasiswa pada konsep sistem respirasi sebagian besar berada dalam interval nilai 33,50-38,50 dan 39,50-44,50 masing-masing 26,83% dengan nilai rata-rata 40,74; sistem sirkulasi pada interval nilai 35,39-41,39 (28,95%), nilai rata-rata 46,70; sedangkan pada sistem ekskresi dan osmoregulasi ada pada interval 42,50-47,50 (41,03%) dengan nilai rata-rata 40,51. Dapat disimpulkan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan fisiologi hewan pada tiga topik yakni sistem respirasi, sirkulasi, ekskresi dan osmoregulasi masih rendah.

ABSTRACT: Preliminary studies on the mastery of the biological concept of prospective biology teachers has been conducted in animal physiology, at biology education courses Faculty of Teacher Education University of Sriwijaya. To gather data mastery of concepts is done through a limited response test multiple choice form, processed by descriptive statistics. The study shows student mastery of the concept of the respiratory system most of the values ​​are within the interval from 39.50 to 44.50 33.50 to 38.50 and 26.83% respectively with an average value of 40.74; circulation system in the interval of values ​​from 35.39 to 41.39 (28.95%), the average value of 46.70; whereas the excretion and osmoregulation system is in the interval from 42.50 to 47.50 (41.03%) with an average value of 40.51. It can be concluded that student mastery of concepts in animal physiology lecture on three topics namely respiratory system, circulation, excretion and osmoregulation still low.
