PENGARUH FAKTOR-FAKTOR EKONOMI DAN SOSIAL TERHADAP TINGKAT KEMISKINAN DI SUMATERA SELATAN
Abstract
This research entitled “The Influence of Economic and Social Factors to Degree of Poverty in South Sumatra. The aim of this research is to know the influence factors of economic growth, inflation, population growth, educational, regional and economic condition to poverty degree in South Sumatra. The source of data used in this research is secondary data that found from BPS South Sumatra Province consist of the data of poverty, economic growth, inflation, population growth, the number school participation, and other supported data. The method of analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and double linear regression analysis. According to the research found that (1) From some factors predicted influenced the poverty degree in South Sumatra in fact economic growth, inflation, and education significantly have negative influence to poverty in South Sumatra Province with elasticity degree for economic growth is 0.417, inflation has elasticity as 0.068 and elasticity of education is 0.291. (2) Poverty degree in South Sumatra has difference in economic condition (before and after crisis 1997) also has differences according to region (city and village) which pointed by difference of model poverty degree base on crisis condition and regional classification. (3) Based on the result of overlay, from the fourth model pointed in the result, actually the highest constanta grade is in condition after crisis in city (48.351), it means degree of poverty after crisis in city is higher compared with other conditions. (4) From some variables, only one variable which is not significant influenced poverty growth in South Sumatra, namely population growth.
