Abstract

SMS or Short Message Service is a text communication through mobile devices. Telecommunications development that is so rapidly along with the development of information technology enabling data access more convenient, faster and more efficient. With the development of technology, the SMS is not only used to transmit or exchange information between two people who know each other or in need, even beginning to be used to connect between someone with a system according to the needs. System information generated by researchers to provide access control according to user needs as the dean can give directly to the assistant dean disposition. The head of administration and the head portion can also provide disposition to other employees. So is the department head may give dispositions to the department secretary or to all lecturers. So that the system will be developed providing ease the pace of achievement of global goals while specifically the use of this system helps the delivery disposition which also can contain work orders and information delivered in real time. In developing the system with SMS gateway using Gammu technology for sending messages. In the development of this system as a Fast researchers used a method of software development methods.

Abstrak

SMS atau Short Message Service merupakan salah satu komunikasi dengan teks melalui perangkat bergerak (mobile divice). Perkembangan telekomunikasi yang begitu pesat seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi informasi memungkinkan pengaksesan data lebih praktis, lebih cepat dan efisien. Dengan perkembangan teknologi maka SMS tidak hanya digunakan untuk mengirimkan atau bertukar informasi antara dua orang yang saling mengenal atau membutuhkan, bahkan sudah mulai digunakan untuk berhubungan antara sesorang dengan sistem sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Sistem informasi yang dihasilkan oleh peneliti memberikan akses control sesuai dengan kebutuhan user seperti dekan dapat memberikan disposisi langsung kepada pembantu dekan. Kepala tata usaha dan kepala bagian juga dapat memberikan disposisi dengan karyawan lainnya. Begitu juga dengan ketua jurusan dapat memberikan disposisi ke sekretaris jurusan atau ke semua dosen. Sehingga sistem yang akan dikembangkan memberikan kemudahan laju pencapai tujuan secara global sedangkan secara khusus penggunaan sistem ini membantu penyampaian disposisi yang sekaligus bisa berisi perintah kerja maupun informasi tersampaikan secara real time. Dalam pengembangan sistem dengan SMS Gateway menggunakan teknologi Gammu untuk pengiriman pesan. Dalam pengembangan sistem ini peneliti menggunakan metode Fast sebagai metode pengembangan perangkat lunak.
