STRUKTUR KOMUNITAS RUMPUT LAUT (SEAWEEDS) DI PERAIRAN PANTAI TELUK SEPANG KOTA BENGKULU

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Penelitian struktur komunitas rumput laut ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2021 di Perairan Pantai Teluk Sepang Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis–jenis rumput laut dan untuk menganalisa struktur komunitas rumput laut di Perairan Pantai Teluk Sepang Kota Bengkulu yang meliputi indeks keanekaragaman, keseragaman, dan dominansi, kerapatan serta tutupan persentase. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei, dan pengambilan data menggunakan transek kuadrat ukuran 50 x 50 cm. Jenis rumput laut yang ditemukan sebanyak 20 spesies yang termasuk ke dalam 3 kelas yang berbeda, yaitu kelas Chlorophyta, Phaeophyta, dan Rhodophyta. Jumlah jenis rumput laut yang terbanyak berasal dari kelas Chlorophyta (rumput laut hijau) sebanyak 10 spesies, diikuti Rhodophyta (rumput laut merah) sebanyak 7 spesies, dan Phaeophyta (rumput laut cokelat) sebanyak 3 spesies. Kerapatan jenis rumput laut tertinggi pada stasiun 1 sebesar 7,52 Ind/m2, kerapatan tertinggi stasiun 2 sebesar 7,03 Ind/m2, kerapatan tertinggi pada stasiun 3 sebesar 6,67 Ind/m2, dan kerapatan tertinggi pada stasiun 4 sebesar 2,42 Ind/m2. Persentase tutupan jenis rumput laut pada stasiun 1 berkisar antara 0,15–6,50%, pada stasiun 2 berkisaran antara 0,24–16,58%, pada stasiun 3 berkisar antara 0,13–15,99%, dan pada stasiun 4 berkisar antara 0,56–10,77%. Hasil perhitungan indeks keanekaragaman (H’), keseragaman (E), dan dominansi (D) masuk dalam kategori sedang tetapi tidak ada spesies yang mendominansi pada semua stasiun. Hasil pengukuran parameter kualitas perairan menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan perairan Pantai Teluk Sepang masih berada pada kisaran yang layak untuk mendukung pertumbuhan rumput laut.

ABSTRACT

This research on the structure of the seaweed community was carried out in October 2021 in the Teluk Sepang beach, Bengkulu City. This study aims to identify the types of seaweed and to analyze the structure of the seaweed community in the Teluk Sepang beach, Bengkulu City which includes diversity, uniformity, and dominance indexes, density and percentage cover. The method used is a survey method, and data collection using a 50 x 50 cm quadratic transect. The types of seaweed found were 20 species conssibied in 3 different classes ; Chlorophyta, Phaeophyta, and Rhodophyta classes. The highest number of types of seaweed is Chlorophyta (green seaweed) with 10 species, followed by Rhodophyta (red seaweed) with 7 species, and Phaeophyta (brown seaweed) with 3 species. The highest density of seaweed species at station 1 was 7.52 Ind./m2, the highest density at station 2 was 7.03 Ind./m2, the highest density at station 3 was 6.67 Ind./m2, and the highest density at station 4 was 2. 42 Ind./m2. The percentage of seaweed species cover at station 1 ranged from 0.15 to 6.50%, at station 2 it ranged from 0.24 to 16.58%, at station 3 ranged from 0.13 to 15.99%, and at station 3 4 ranged from 0.56 – 10.77%. The results of the calculation of the diversity index (H'), uniformity (E), and dominance (D) are in the medium category but no species dominates at all stations. The results of the measurement of water quality parameters indicate that overall the waters of the Teluk Sepang beach are still in a reasonable range to support the growth of seaweed.
