Analysis Of Metal Content In Local Salt In Kolaka Village Tanjung Bunga District East Flores Regency

Yosefin Batafor

Abstract

East Flores has the potential to have the main ingredients for making salt and become one of Indonesia's salt production centers. The quality of salt made traditionally did not fulfill the requirements. The salt in Kolaka Village runs conventionally without metal content testing. The purposes of the research were to know the presence of metal content and to determine the local salt metal content in Kolaka Village. The Collected data depended on survey results by taking samples of local salt sold in traditional markets in East Flores Regency. The analysis of salt metal content did at the UPT Integrated Laboratory, University of Nusa Cendana. The method for viewing metal content refers to SNI 3556: 2016. The research results were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results found for salt metal of lead, cadmium, and mercury in the KD and L samples still qualify so that local salt circulating in the traditional markets of East Flores Regency is still safe for consumption. Local salt needs to improve the quality by conducting physical and microbiological tests.
