    Peer Review Process

    The submitted article will be reviewed initially by the reviewer. The reviewing process will be conducted through blind review process. The acceptance of submitted article considers the reviewers’suggestion and recommendation. The article will be published after the concluding meeting of the Editorial Board. To screen the plagiarism within the article, iThenticate, Plagiarism Checker or Turnitin.

    Criksetra terbit secara berkala dua kali setahun (Februari dan Agustus)

     

    Open Access Policy

    This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

     

    Publication Ethics

    This statement clarifies ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in our journals, including the authors, the editors, the peer-reviewers and the publisher, namely Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya.

    Section A: Publication and authorship 

    1. All submitted papers are subject to strict peer-review process by national reviewers that are experts in the area of the particular paper.
    2. Review processes are blind peer review.
    3. The factors taken into account in the review are relevance, soundness, significance, originality, readability, and language.
    4. The possible decisions include acceptance, acceptance with revisions, or rejection.
    5. If authors are encouraged to revise and resubmit a submission, there is no guarantee that the revised submission will be accepted.
    6. Rejected articles will not be re-reviewed.
    7. The paper acceptance is constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
    8. No research can be included in more than one publication. 

    Section B: Authors’ responsibilities

    1. Authors must certify that their manuscripts are their original work.
    2. Authors must certify that the manuscript has not previously been published elsewhere.
    3. Authors must certify that the manuscript is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere. 
    4. Authors must participate in the peer review process. 
    5. Authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.
    6. All Authors mentioned in the paper must have significantly contributed to the research.
    7. Authors must state that all data in the paper are real and authentic.
    8. Authors must notify the Editors of any conflicts of interest.
    9. Authors must identify all sources used in the creation of their manuscript.
    10. Authors must report any errors they discover in their published paper to the Editors. 

    Section C: Reviewers’ responsibilities

    1. Reviewers should keep all information regarding papers confidential and treat them as privileged information. 
    2. Reviews should be conducted objectively, with no personal criticism of the author
    3. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments
    4. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
    5. Reviewers should also call to the Editor in Chief’s attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.
    6. Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers. 

    Section D: Editors’ responsibilities

    1. Editors have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article.
    2. Editors are responsible for the contents and overall quality of the publication.
    3. Editors should always consider the needs of the authors and the readers when attempting to improve the publication.
    4. Editors should guarantee the quality of the papers and the integrity of the academic record.
    5. Editors should publish errata pages or make corrections when needed.
    6. Editors should have a clear picture of a research’s funding sources.
    7. Editors should base their decisions solely on the papers’ importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to publication’s scope.
    8. Editors should not reverse their decisions nor overturn the ones of previous editors without serious reason. 
    9. Editors should preserve the anonymity of reviewers. 
    10. Editors should ensure that all research material they publish conforms to internationally accepted ethical guidelines.
    11. Editors should only accept a paper when reasonably certain.
    12. Editors should act if they suspect misconduct, whether a paper is published or unpublished, and make all reasonable attempts to persist in obtaining a resolution to the problem.
    13. Editors should not reject papers based on suspicions; they should have proof of misconduct.
    14. Editors should not allow any conflicts of interest between staff, authors, reviewers and board members.

    Section E: Author/Writer Code Ethic

    1. Author collectively responsible for the work and the content of the article which cover methods, analysis, calculation, and its details.
    2. Author immediately responds to the comments made by the peer review professionally and timely.
    3. Author should inform the editor if they retract their paper.        
    4. The author describes the limitations in the study.                       
    5. Author respects the publishers if they demand to not to publish the findings in the form of interviews or through any other media before the publication.
    6. The author informs the editor of (a) paper that is part of a phased research, multidisciplinary, and different perspectives.                                 
    7. The author makes a statement that the papers submitted for publication is original, has not been published anywhere in any language, and not in the process of submission to another publisher.
    8. If there is any error in the paper, the author should immediately notify the editor or publisher.                                       
    9. The use of materials from other publications which is copyrighted, should be given a written permission and gratitude.
    10. The author refers to the work of others as appropriate in citations and quotations which used in the paper.                                          
    11. When delivering new discoveries or improving inventions the authors should mention the job previous researcher/writer/founder.                                   
    12. The author is not allowed to give a bibliography of the publications if they do not read the publication.                                
    13. If requested, the authors prepared the proof that the research has already met the requirements of the research ethics including the field notes.
    14. Author adequately responds if there are any comments or feedback after the paper published.

    Criksetra: Jurnal Pendidikan Sejarah, does not charge any processing or publishing fees for every article published.

    If author need a printed journal, then the cost of printing and postage is charged to the author of Rp. 150,000.

    Plagiarism Check

    Criksetra Journal had been using Turnitin as plagiarism evaluation tool for submitting articles. Plagiarism checking is one of the article processing series hence it is eligible for publication. Plagiarism tolerance of Criksetra Journal is not more than 20% (will be rejected) Therefore, authors are highly suggested to check the similarity prior to submit the manuscript to the Journal. 

    Highlighted sentences indicate similarity with sentences from other resources identified by Turnitin. It is suggested to avoid resources, for instances, blogspot and outdated articles. If a sentence is indicated as a plagiarism, then the author must cite the source and rephrase the sentence.

     Another software can used are iThenticatePlagiarism Checker, etc.

    Screening Plagiarism

    PLAGIARISM INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

    1. refer and/or quoting terms, words and/or sentences, data and/or information from a source without citing sources in the record citation and/or without stating the source adequately;
    2. refer and/or quoting random terms, words and/or sentences, data and/or information from a source without citing a source in the record citation and/or without stating the source adequately;
    3. using a source of ideas, opinions, views, or theory without stating the source adequately;
    4. formulate the words and/or sentences themselves from the source of words and/or phrases, ideas, opinions, views, or theory without stating the source adequately;
    5. submit a scientific papers produced and/or published by others as a source of scientific work without express adequately.

     All manuscript will be checked with professional plagiarism prevention.

    SANCTIONS
    1. reprimand;
    2. letter of warning;
    3. revocation of the article;
    4. cancellation of publication.

     

    Archiving

    This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. 

     

    Revisions Guidelines

    The paper that has received the results of the review is expected to be immediately revised to adjust the suggestions and questions that exist in the review results. The author is given no later than 10 days to revise his paper counted since the submission of the review results. If at that time the author does not upload the revised paper, then the paper will not be refused to be published (reject). Renewal time extensions can be obtained in accordance with strong demand and reason. The revised paper is further uploaded to Journal website and also sent via email criksetra@fkip.unsri.ac.id.

    Following the provisions of the revised paper in Journal :

    1. When a reviewer gives comment on paper (in the comment box), the writer asked to directly reply to that comment box. The answer from the author can be Information that has been done revision or reason/argumentation if the author is not willing to revise for some reason (please can be submitted in the comments field already available briefly and details).
    2. Revised on paper or additional material/sentence please block yellow highlighter.
    3. Attached sample of revision process paper in Journal to facilitate revision process by the author.
